The Cactus Pear Music Festival continues its final season under the direction of founder Stephanie Sant’Ambrogio, who is handing the reins to pianist Ryo Yanagitani. The latest example is Anything Box, the band known for the dance-club hit “Living in Oblivion,” which led to its major-label debut, “Peace,” in 1990. Rob Rowe of Cause & Effect opens.the San Anto Cultural Arts Barrio Block Party returns after a two year hiatus to celebrate the creative spirit of San Antonio. Along with a chancla throwing contest and other flip-flop fun, the party will feature music, artists and vendors.
A collaboration between worship music group Maverick City Music and Franklin, the gospel star from Dallas, resulted in the album “Kingdom Book One,” a celebration of the uniting power of music and faith.
