Amazon took the top spot on the list, according to the nationwide study that examines the U.S. grocery market.
The list of grocers was determined through an online survey of about 10,000 U.S. households asked to rate their grocery stores on elements of customer satisfaction, including price, digital options, quality, convenience, speed, operations, discounts and rewards.
The study found that although digital’s share of grocery sales more than doubled, customers still prefer to shop in brick-and-mortar stores. Price is also the the top indicator of customer preference, and grocery stores with digital platforms tended to take the lion’s share of customers, explaining why Amazon has topped the list two years in a row,
