The Umbrella Academy showrunner Steve Blackman has teased the show’s upcoming season 4 with a first look image of a new episode script. Based on the comic book created by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá, The Umbrella Academy follows the exploits of the Hargreeves siblings, a dysfunctional family of adopted superheroes who were brought together by the eccentric billionaire Sir Reginald Hargreeves.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY After more time-traveling hijinks and averting yet another apocalypse in season 2, The Umbrella Academy season 3 saw the titular superhero team find themselves stranded in a new timeline in which they were never adopted by Sir Reginald. Faced with an alternate Sparrow Academy in their place, the Hargreeves siblings ultimately found themselves facing a world-ending paradox that threatened to destroy the very fabric of reality itself.
Everything We Know About The Umbrella Academy Season 4 At this stage, little is known about where The Umbrella Academy will go after the events of the season 3 finale, though Blackman has previously teased a few minor story details. According to the showrunner, Sir Reginald did not manage to complete his plans for the reprogrammed universe before Alison killed him and hit the reset button, and as such “the siblings losing their powers isn’t going to be the only oddity in this timeline”.
On a slightly more disappointing note, The Umbrella Academy season 4 may also be an abbreviated season as they say their final goodbyes to the assorted outcasts and miscreants. Netflix has not yet released an official episode count for season 4, but some early reports indicate that the show’s final season may be shorter than previous seasons.
