Former President Donald Trump was heard on audio recordings bragging about advanced weapons and toughness to journalist Bob Woodward.
Trump was also heard casually dropping multiple f-bombs in his recorded interactions with the journalist, which were obtained by CNN and played on Anderson Cooper 360 Tuesday night."I have built a weapons system that nobody has ever had in this country before. We have stuff you haven’t even seen or ever heard about. We have stuff that Putin and Xi have never heard about before," Trump said.
Trump also asserted to Woodward that"getting along with Russia is a good thing, not a bad thing," justifying his statement by saying that Russia has"1,332 nuclear f***ing warheads.” The former president also bragged about his toughness during one of his impeachments, arguing he wasn't brought down as much by impeachment as Richard Nixon or Bill Clinton were.
"There’s nobody that’s tougher than me. Nobody’s tougher than me. You asked me about impeachment. I’m under impeachment, and you said, you know, you just act like you just won a f***ing race. Nixon was in a corner with his thumb in his mouth. Bill Clinton took it very, very hard. I just do things, OK," Trump said.
The audio recordings are set to be released in a new audiobook from Woodward titled The Trump Tapes, which he says will feature eight hours of tapes of the former president from 2016 to 2020. The audiobook is scheduled for release on Oct. 25 and will feature commentary from the journalist. In the audiobook, Woodward declares Trump"an unparalleled danger" and says his efforts to overturn the 2020 election are part of"an effort to destroy democracy.
