A new trailer for The Munsters announces a Blu-ray and DVD release date for the movie and reveals new footage from Rob Zombie's reboot. The musician-turned-director is best known for his work in the horror genre, including the Firefly trilogy and the Halloween remakes. Zombie is now at the helm for The Munsters movie, directing a script he also wrote which tells an origin story for the famous monster family from the 1960s sitcom of the same name.
Jeff Daniel Phillips and Sheri Moon Zombie lead the cast as Herman and Lily Munster alongside Daniel Roebuck as The Count. Additional cast members include Game of Thrones' Richard Brake, Lost's Jorge Garcia, The Hobbit's Sylvester McCoy, and Elvira's Cassandra Peterson. The Munsters movie will focus on the crazy courtship between Herman and Lily. Her father, The Count, has other plans for his daughter's future.
Those who purchase The Munsters Collector's Edition on Blu-ray or DVD will be treated to over one hour of special features, including behind-the-scenes footage of the cast and director's commentary from Zombie. With The Munsters releasing on physical formats on September 27, it will likely arrive on Netflix shortly after that, though an exact date has yet to be confirmed.
