While it might not seem like a video game tailored for the big screen, as the Minecraft movie news comes in, it looks more and more like it might be the next big thing for video game adaptations.
There is also always a chance the Minecraft Movie release date could get moved, but for now, this is the set date. The movie hasn't started production yet, but it is scheduled to start shooting on August 7, 2023, in New Zealand . This gives the movie two full years to shoot the movie and do all post-production work, which is expected to be extensive with what gamers know about the world of Minecraft, and the fact it is a live-action movie.
Minecraft Movie Cast The biggest name brought in for the Minecraft movie cast is Jason Momoa. With major roles in everything from Aquaman and Game of Thrones to Fast X and Dune, Momoa remains one of the most in-demand stars in Hollywood right now. There is no word on who Momoa signed on to play. The main default avatar in Minecraft is Steve, and that might be the best bet unless the movie decides to create an original character for the main protagonist, or Momoa takes on the role of a villain.
Another actor rumored for the Minecraft movie cast is Matt Berry . Much like Jason Momoa, there is no word on who Berry could be playing in the movie as it is still early on. On top of his role as Laszlo in What We Do in the Shadows, he also has crossover appeal as he has voiced a ton of roles in everything from animated kids' fare like SpongeBob SquarePants and The Mighty Boosh to adult animated favorites like Archer and Disenchantment.
