To best understand future cars, we interview two students being trained to design the cars of tomorrow
, Franz von Holzhausen, Syd Mead, Michelle Christensen, Chip Foose, Luc Donckervolke, J Mays, Larry Shinoda, Jerry Weigert, Jeff Zwart—to name just a few! No design school in the world has turned out more top automotive design talent than ArtCenter.
Which is why I was so excited to have on two second year ArtCenter Transportation Design students, Madison Walker and Preston Sanchez. Not because these two have accomplished anything——but because they're being trained to design the cars of the future. I often start The InEVitable intro by tossing out a line about cars without steering wheels. A little bit of verbal clickbait, sure, I'm not above it.
We also talk about the paths they took to ArtCenter, what they actually do once they get into the Transportation Design program , as well as where they hope to wind up once they graduate and what they think they'll be doing 10 years from now.
