Sarcoidosis, according to the American Lung Association, is an inflammatory disease where the immune system overreacts.

PUBLISHED 5:09 PM CDT May 25, 2023FORT WORTH, Texas — It’s a rare disease with a name some will struggle to pronounce, sarcoidosis, but the day Rachella Parks-Washington first heard it for herself was the day much of her life changed.

She said they biopsied the growths, concerned it was cancer, but what she got was both a relief and a whole additional concern.
