All eyes fixated on the bespectacled interim coach, waiting for the message to be delivered with that raspy Texas twang.
And over the course of 40 pressure-packed minutes, Texas did exactly what Terry implored them to hours earlier. The second-seeded Longhorns overcame a late deficit to beat 10th-seeded Penn State 71-66 in the second round of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament. Texas jumped ahead 5-4 on a feathery push shot from senior forward Dylan Disu and didn’t trail for the rest of the half.
