The beach is not designated as a swimming beach and has no lifeguards.
Lifeguards responded to calls for rescue from other nearby beaches, in addition to first responders from Sea Bright, Monmouth and Highlands.that three people were taken to Monmouth Medical Center in Long Beach, where one 15-year-old teenage boy was pronounced dead. Two other people were taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune township. One person declined medical treatment.

15-year-old boy pulled from the water off Sandy Hook Beach in New Jersey diesA 15-year-old boy who was pulled from the water on the Jersey Shore on Sunday has died.
