Among the most significant of the new rule changes is that businesses like Temptations must close after 1 a.m. and clear out their parking lots by 1:15 a.m.
Manny Ramirez, the Tarrant County commissioner for the fourth precinct, whichincludes the club, has called for Temptations to be closed. In an interview Wednesday, he said the changes to the rules were significant.
Ramirez reported hearing from hundreds of nearby residents who said they had given up trying to push for action against the club. Looking at the state statute, he said he recognized the commissioners court has the authority to govern these types of businesses. “It didn’t really touch the criminal activity that we’ve seen that’s emanated from this establishment’s parking lot and internally,” Ramirez said. “It didn’t have a provision for murder, which we’ve had several of at this location in the last several years.”at the club. Temptations is a fully nude, bring-your-own-beverage adult club. A website listed for the club is down, and a Yelp page for the business said it’s temporarily closed and scheduled to reopen February 2024.
According to the suit, the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Department responded to 247 calls at Temptations between 2020 and 2022, and 134 of those calls occurred in 2022 alone; more calls there than at the 10 other bars or nightclubs in unincorporated Tarrant County combined.
