Tanya Pardazi, a TikTok star with nearly 100,000 followers and a former Miss Teen Canada semifinalist in 2017, died on Aug. 27 after her first solo skydiving jump when her main parachute failed to open in time.
"Saturday, August 27th, at approximately 6:00 p.m. EDT, a skydiving student aged 21 succumbed to fatal injuries obtained from an emergency situation," read a statement posted on Skydive Toronto's."The skydiver released a quickly rotating main parachute at a low altitude without the time/altitude required for the reserve parachute to inflate."
