Likened to the 'Starbucks of Taiwan,' 85°C Bakery Cafe is expanding its Texas presence into San Antonio.
a serious caffeine and sugar buzz,According to documents filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the trendy Taiwanese restaurant chain 85°C Bakery Cafe will soon be slinging its beloved coffee drinks and pastries in the Alamo City. The new shop will be located at 12710 W. Interstate 10 in the University Square shopping center near the intersection with De Zevala Road.
85°C Bakery Cafe construction director Neil Moody confirmed the project is underway, but no additional details were immediately available. According to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation documents, construction will begin in mid-August with a targeted completion date of Nov. 15. The estimated $450,000 project will bring fresh renovations to the interior and exterior of the space.Launched in 2004, 85°C Bakery Cafe quickly gained a cultlike following and has been dubbed the"Starbucks of Taiwan" by some. The brand entered the U.S. market in 2008 with a location in Irvine, Calif.
