“As an accredited Police Department through the CALEA, the department’s policies, procedures, management, operations, and support services are routinely assessed to ensure the highest standards of contemporary law enforcement are being met,” said the release.The purpose of the portal is for the CALEA to get public feedback on the Tacoma Police Department’s compliance with CALEA standards, community engagement, delivery of public safety services, and overall candidacy for the national status.
