T-Mobile has agreed to pay $350 million in connection to a class-action lawsuit over an August 2021 cyberattack that left customers’ sensitive data exposed to hackers.

“Customers are first in everything we do and protecting their information is a top priority. Like every company, we are not immune to these criminal attacks,” T-Mobile said in a statement on its website. “As we continue to invest time, energy, and resources in addressing this challenge, we are pleased to have resolved this consumer class action filing.”
Eligible customers will be notified of the settlement, though it could take as long as through the end of the year or early 2023. And participants – some of whom had their full names, dates of birth and Social Security numbers exposed – won’t see a windfall.
