Suspected DUI driver arrested after I-8 chase, driving over spike strips [Breaking]
A suspected DUI driver was arrested early Wednesday after leading sheriff’s deputies on a chase from Alpine to El Cajon, a sheriff’s official said.
Deputies put down a spike strip on I-8 near Mollision Avenue in El Cajon — about 14 miles from where the pursuit began — and when the driver ran over it, it deflated at least some of the tires on the man’s car, Lanning said.The man got out of the car and started to run and approached another car that had pulled over, Lanning said. He tried to get into that car but was unsuccessful.
