Northern Dauphin, northeast Franklin, Cumberland and Perry counties are in the line of storms, forecasters say.

The storms are traveling along a line extending north near Newport to south near Carlisle and Chambersburg. Wind gusts are blowing east at 40 mph and expected to reach up to 50 to 55 mph.“Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects,” according to the service. “Minor hail damage to vegetation possible.”

The following locations could be affected: Harrisburg, Carlisle, Mechanicsburg, Enola, Shippensburg, Newport, Plainfield, Schlusser, Boiling Springs, Millersburg, Marysville, Mount Holly Springs, Lykens, Duncannon, Elizabethville, Willamstown, Newville, New Bloomfield, New Kingstown and New Buffalo. “If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building,” according to the service. “These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.”
