The panics over satanic cults, heavy metal, Dungeons & Dragons and other perceived evils that once freaked out America have arrived in the 1980s of “Stranger Things.”
The poster boy for the era’s occult paranoia is Eddie Munson, a new character played by Joseph Quinn. In the show’s fourth and penultimate season, released Friday, he’s a repeat senior at Hawkins High School and the leader of its D&D group, the Hellfire Club. He is an alpha misfit who plays in a metal band, sells some drugs on the side, and rants about conformity.
