A guaranteed income program for recipients in El Monte, California, will start in five days, and will give recipients payments of $500 every month.
Recipients of this program receive their payments on a debit card at the start of every month, with the cards in question distributed to participants when they come to El Monte city hall to attend an in-person presentation about the program and how to use the card.While payments for this program will typically be issued on the first of a month, the monthly payment will be issued on the Friday before the next month when a month starts on either a Saturday or Sunday.
In total, this program will last a whole year, giving recipients a total of 12 payments. The final payment will be issued on Friday, May 31, 2024.To have been eligible for this program, an applicant must live in El Monte, be a single female head of household with no spouse or partner in the house, and have children younger than 17 years old.
