The Browns are a small favorite on Thursday Night Football against the Steelers.
Last Sunday, Pittsburgh suffered a rare defeat as a home underdog when New England earned a 17-14 road victory. Quarterback Mitchell Trubisky struggled to throw the ball deep, and there’s no indication that should change against a quality Browns secondary that just so happens to be coming off a brutal late-game collapse.
Luckily for Pittsburgh, its defense has historically traveled well. Just eight of the Steeler’s 24 road games over the last three seasons have gone over the total, as have just 11 of 30 games spanning the last five years. Cleveland should do its part to keep this game’s scoring production to a minimum, despite two straight games of at least 50 total points. After all, the running game remains the Browns’ bread and butter. They have rushed it second most of any NFL team through two weeks, doing so without a dual-threat quarterback. They ran the ball at least 37 times in each game, a stat unlikely to change against a Pittsburgh defense that was the NFL’s worst against the run last season.
