Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost wants a Fairfield County judge to stop Columbus from imposing gun restrictions.
“The attorney general didn’t like the decision out of Franklin County so now he’s judge shopping over in Fairfield County hoping he gets a decision he likes," Klein said in a written statement released by his office."That’s not how this works.
Yost's office didn't respond to Klein's criticisms despite repeated requests for comment over why the state is seeking a new venue for its new complaint, which seeks immediate court intervention to keep the new local gun ordinances from going into effect Thursday. The new complaint re-argues that Ohio law bans local governments from passing their own firearms codes but that the Columbus City Council did so"despite this, and with great political theater, on December 5."
