The CIF contract for state bowl games at Saddleback College is up, but officials are trying to negotiate a return there since basketball games are up north
Over the last two seasons, Saddleback College has been home to the California State Championship Football Bowl Games.
Mater Dei Catholic, Lincoln and Granite Hills all brought thousands of fans with the Granite Hills crowd particularly loud.It’s sparkling-clean facility with large locker rooms for the teams and game officials. The pressbox easily accommodates the press, TV and coaches.Last year, there was a problem with not enough food options.And while food prices were high — $14 for a burger or sandwich — the fact is there were options.
There have been informal conversation’s with San Diego’s Snapdragon Stadium, but that probably will never happen. Of the seven championships, only the Open Division game between Lincoln and Carlsbad was played at Snapdragon.
