The Spurs’ Josh Richardson is supportive of the historic pregame broadcast crew: “It’s good we have women stepping into these roles because they can do just a good of a job as any man.”Katie Goodman hopes her participation in Wednesday’s first all-female Spurs pregame show will lead to more women pursuing jobs in sports broadcasting.
A 2008 Marshall graduate who serves as a soccer analyst for ESPN Radio San Antonio after playing the sport at Mississippi State, Goodman joined April Marie Aguilar, Shayla Hudson, Shelby Coppedge and Michelle Beadle for the landmark broadcast on Bally Sports Southwest before the Spurs faced Memphis. Aguilar has spent the past five years working for the G League’s Rio Grande Valley Vipers. Hudson is a UTSA graduate who has had stints at San Antonio TV stations KABB and KENS as well as Abilene’s KTXS. Coppedge, a graduate of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, is a color analyst for volleyball and soccer at Texas Tech.
