His only other game with as many successful 3-pointers came Oct. 23 of last season against Milwaukee, when McDermott went 7 of 11. McDermott has made 19 3-point shots this season, the second most in the NBA off the bench. Indiana rookie Bennedict Mathurin has hit 21. At age 30, McDermott is the second-oldest player on the Spurs’ roster behind 32-year-old Gorgui Dieng.“He runs so damn hard off every screen,” Collins said. “The rest of us don’t have an excuse when we’ve got an old man running around.”
