CLEVELAND, Ohio — A South Euclid man who had a “large quantity” of methamphetamine mailed to him from California has been sentenced 11 years in prison after being convicted on multiple drug charges, federal authorities say. Mark Holt Williams, 29, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Donald C. Nugent on Thursday after Williams previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Ohio.
Williams was arrested on June 12, 2020, by law-enforcement officers from the United States Postal Inspection Service after he accepted a package from an undercover officer containing meth, the U.S. Attorney’s Office says. The package was mailed from California to an apartment in University Heights. Prosecutors say Williams and a co-defendant, Donathan Woodson, 30, of Warrensville Heights, had traveled to California to arrange for packages containing drugs to be mailed to Ohio. Woodson already has pleaded guilty to charges and is scheduled to be sentenced on Aug. 18, prosecutors say.
