SEWAGE SMELL: More than 360 complaints have been reported to the South Coast AQMD since June over the smell of sewage emanating from the Playa del Rey plant.
After inspectors traced the odors back to the facility, South Coast AQMD issued the notices of violation on June 22, July 7, July 9, July 17, July 19, and July 20 for violating the agency's public nuisance rules.
