Solo actor Alden Ehrenreich reminiscences his time on the StarWars prequel by posting an image of the blaster he kept from the set.

Solo: A Star Wars Story lead actor Alden Ehrenreich shares a photo of the DL-44 blaster he wielded, portraying the character of Han Solo in the film. Solo: A Star Wars Story, the second and most recent Star Wars spinoff film after 2016's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, was released in May 2018 after undergoing a good deal of behind-the-scenes turmoil.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY In an Instagram post, Solo: A Star Wars Story star Alden Ehrenreich revealed a prop of his character's iconic blaster pistol in a display case that he kept from the Star Wars prequel movie. Ehrenreich included the caption, "Past Job Experience," jokingly referring to his time in the Star Wars universe.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Alden Ehrenreich The DL-44 heavy blaster pistol was first introduced in Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope and was used by Harrison Ford in his original Han Solo role. In Solo: A Star Wars Story, it was revealed that Han originally acquired the weapon from Tobias Beckett after he used it as a soldier for the Empire in the Battle of Mimban. Variations of the blaster have also appeared in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels, and Andor.

Even if it isn't in a film centered around his character, it could make sense for Star Wars to let Ehrenreich reprise the role for minor appearances in films or series on Disney+ during the period between the original and sequel trilogies. However, previous comments from Kathleen Kennedy suggest that LucasFilm views their re-casting of an iconic character as a reason for its box-office letdown, even though it's clear that Alden Ehrenreich wasn't the reason why the film flopped.

Could Solo Get A Sequel? Solo: A Star Wars Story didn't experience the box office success that Disney and LucasFilm hoped for, but the reaction surrounding the project has improved over time. Unfortunately, any hopes of a sequel seem entirely off the table at the moment. Though many actors from Solo want to return, John Kasdan, one of the film's writers, has said that there currently isn't any movement on a follow-up.
