The Greyhounds advance to the regional finals for the second time in three years. They’ll face Needville or Corpus Christi Calallen next week for a berth in the state tournament. Alice was limited to five hits. The Coyotes had scored 71 runs in six playoff games coming into Thursday. Rodriguez had some defensive help, highlighted by senior left fielder Ava Nieto’s snag of Ciara Valadez’s liner in foul ground that ended the sixth with a runner stranded and the Greyhounds clinging to a 4-2 lead.
