As the rest of the nation gets hit with snowstorms and a powerful blast of cold weather from the north,
Other spots around the country, particularly in the upper Midwest, will continue to see heavy snow and temperatures below freezing as a weather phenonemon nicknamed a "bomb cyclone" brings cold air down from the North Pole. The Rocky Mountains are helping to isolate SoCal from the cold air, as a high-pressure system builds toward the south and east to keep things toasty.
On Sunday, Los Angeles and Orange counties can expect sunny skies and temperatures hitting a high of 80 degrees. On Monday, temperatures will start dipping and rain is expected to start Tuesday.Beaches will be clear, with a high of 73 and 2-4 foot surf.
