A 22-year-old man was killed and a 21-year-old woman were wounded in the shooting Monday afternoon, police say.
ELYRIA, Ohio — A man was killed and a woman was seriously wounded Monday afternoon in a shooting at an apartment complex, police say.
A 21-year-old male suspect in the shooting, Chi Sean Oglesby of Elyria, was arrested at about 9 p.m. Monday in East Cleveland. Oglesby is being held in the Lorain County Jail without bond. Officers found the two victims when they were called to the apartment complex at 283 Washington Ave. just after 3 p.m. after receiving reports of shots fired. A 22-year-old man was taken to University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center but he died of his wounds. A 21-year-old woman was taken to UH Elyria, then flown to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland. She reportedly is in serious condition.
Police say a “disturbance” occurred in the apartment before the shooting. No other details were released and the names of the victims currently are being withheld.. Tips can also be sent anonymously by texting TIPELYRIA at 847411.
