Police were called to the sprawling East Rutherford mega mall — one of the largest malls in the nation — at 5:50 p.m. for a report of a shooting inside, and when they arrived they found one man had been shot, police said. The man, who was not identified, was rushed to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.After the shots were fired, the mall was immediately locked down and troopers cleared the building and began escorting patrons outside, authorities said.
It was unclear exactly where the man was when he was shot, but detectives said they believed that only one person was responsible. A suspect was not named Thursday night and no arrests were made as of 12:15 a.m. Friday.The mall will reopen for regular operating hours on Friday
