Perry, a five-term incumbent Republican, declined to participate in an interview with PennLive’s editorial board.
Shamaine Daniels on Thursday fielded questions from PennLive staff as well as community members on topics impacting residents of the 10th U.S. House district.
She replied that she voted against equipping Harrisburg police with more riot gear, saying there’s much “documentation about how riot gear is not an effective tool for law enforcement when we’re dealing with protests … they escalate situations that are already tense.” “We need a system that actually works to process workers so that we can get them in a timely manner,” she said.
Daniels said she’s against school vouchers, which essentially give families money they can use to attend the school of their choice.
