Preparations are underway for San Francisco's Chinese New Year parade, the largest of its kind outside of Asia. It's a way to celebrate culture proudly and continue to share it with the rest of the world.

Besides those incidents, rising hate crimes against Asian Americans following the pandemic has been a cause of concern for the community for the past several years.

But despite those challenges, local leaders say they're determined to make this year's festivities the best yet. "We are a very resilient community. In all the hardships we have faced throughout history in this country, we continue to grow," said Luu."We made a lot of great contributions from the transcontinental railway to right now, all these great Chinese Americans becoming professionals," Wong said.
