has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for 13 New Jersey counties, alerting that there’s potential for severe thunderstorms and localized flash flooding across the state Sunday evening.
The watch — which is not as urgent as a warning — covers Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Ocean, Salem, Somerset and Warren until 11 p.m.,Spotty minor coastal flooding is predicted along the coast of the Jersey Shore, Delaware River and Delaware Bay. Flash flooding is also possible in urban areas due to excessive rainfall, the weather service said.
