The city is expecting roughly 50,000 people for the Fourth of July Celebration.
As a result of COVID-19 closures, this will be the first Independence Day celebration with a crowd in Houston since 2019."When you look at how Houston celebrates and how much they love music festivals and fireworks, you just can’t wait to get back to something like that," said Susan Christian, director for special events.
According to Christian, they’re working with Houston police and fire departments to help keep the crowd safe.
