The multi-year plan will include a new performance pavilion, better access to the lake and illuminated forest areas. The new design, which will help the park become more resilient to flooding, also includes elevated boardwalks and bridges, a treetop pavilion and relocated parking, according to a city news release.
“For generations, Towne Lake Park has been an important gathering spot for our community and has embodied the very best that our parks system offers,” Parks and Recreation Director Michael Kowski said in the news release. “Today, we are excited to reinvest in this beautiful place to make sure that it remains a celebrated landmark that delivers a truly unique experience for all users.”
The first phase of work is under design for east of the existing ball fields and will connect the Senior Recreation Center and Senior Pool.was installed at Towne Lake Park, which is part of the Towne Lake Recreation Area at 1405 Wilson Creek Parkway. Amenities at the 108-acre park include picnic shelters with electrical outlets, sand volleyball courts, horseshoe pitching courts, two playgrounds, fishing, restrooms, hike and bike trails and an 18-hole disc golf course..
