He was last seen April 19 on Red Earth Cree Nation wearing Paw Patrol rubber boots, green pyjamas and a navy blue windbreaker\u002Dstyle jacket.
He was last seen at the family’s home on Red Earth Cree Nation around 12:30 p.m. and an eyewitness report placed him at the local playground at 2:30 p.m. that day. He has not been located since.
Searches have been conducted by ground, air and water, and recent warmer weather has aided in the efforts by volunteers, search and rescue crews and RCMP. They’ve been able to search in new areas as the snow and ice melts, said Sgt. Richard Tonge, commanding officer of the Carrot River RCMP. Tips have come in from as far away as Edmonton and Red Deer, Alta., but police have determined the the tips did not pertain to Young, Tonge added.
In response to questions asking why an Amber Alert has not been issued, Tonge said the main criteria for an Amber Alert is evidence of an abduction — by a stranger or family member — where there is concern for the child’s safety.
