The search continues for a Winter Park woman, Melissa Whitsitt, 34, who disappeared two weeks ago from the 100 block of Woodspur Lane in Winter Park.

Investigators say, Melissa Whitsitt, 34, was last seen on August 13 and reported missing two days after she was last seen in the 100 block of Woodspur Lane in Winter Park. Her love for the outdoors is what brought the Tennessee native to Colorado in May.

Investigators with Fraser Winter Park Police determined Melissa Whitsitt got on the Bustang bus to Denver around 10 on the morning of the 13th. They say the last person who saw her was a roommate who told police she was in bed. Police did a wellness check when she didn't show up to work. "The phone has been dead after that. It's not been on nor has her debit card been touched. She has money,” said Cindy Whitsitt. “In the past, she would call and tell us she was going hiking with the girls she worked with or shopping for the day.”

Just last week, the missing woman's parents came to Denver to search for their daughter. They handed out flyers and searched shelters and medical facilities but came up with nothing. They plan to come back to continue searching if necessary.
