Authorities on Saturday continued their search for a man who fatally stabbed a 23-year-old passenger without provocation aboard a Metro B (Red) Line train in downtown Los Angeles.
The stabbing occurred around 5:20 p.m. Thursday. The suspect approached the victim, pulled out a knife and ``without warning or provocation'' stabbed the victim -- identified as Jesse Rodriguez -- in the chest, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The suspect fled the scene on foot and was last seen going up the stairs from the underground station, authorities said.Sign up for NBC LA newsletters.
