Rohan Chopra’s ‘Journey to Mars’ charts NASA’s exploration of the red planet.
A Saratoga high schooler shot for the stars and won big.
Saratoga High School junior Rohan Chopra won the CineSpace International Short Film Competition this November. His film was among 169 submitted from filmmakers in 28 countries. Chopra’s film, “Journey to Mars,” explores Mars and the research work NASA has done on the planet. It won in the category “Education Film that Inspires the Next Generation to Join the STEM Workforce.”
NASA and the Houston Cinema Arts Society announced winners at the Houston Cinema Arts Festival on Nov. 13. Chopra attended the festival, where his film was screened and his award was presented. He also toured the NASA Johnson Space Center and met filmmakers, NASA executives and astronauts.
