The defender, who tore her ACL in last season’s preseason camp, is looking forward to getting back on the field
Sarah Gorden arrived in Los Angeles coming off a NWSL Defender of the Year season with the Chicago Red Stars and eager to get started with Angel City FC.In the second week of training camp last season, Gorden tore her ACL and missed the entire season.
“I will never forget the home opener and being so proud the team won, but having tears because that was something I really wanted to be a part of.” “It feels really great,” she said Friday. “It’s been a great first three days of training. I’ve felt so celebrated by my teammates and it’s just been great to be around their energy and their vibe …it’s been a long, almost a year. It’s going great so far, I’m really enjoying it.”
Having a healthy Gorden is probably one of the biggest acquisitions Angel City could have had for this season.
