SAN JOSE — A man who was arrested by San Jose policewas wanted in connection with a fatal shooting in East San Jose in June, authorities said.
Tyrese Burse, 21, of San Jose, was arrested Tuesday evening in the Arden-Arcade neighborhood of the state capital after he reportedly ran from an SJPD arrest team and holed up inside an apartment on Morse Avenue. After a few hours, Burse surrendered to a contingent of police that came to also include Sacramento-area law enforcement.
San Jose police contend that Burse was responsible for a June 29 shooting near Lanai Avenue and Dixie Drive in San Jose that left a man seriously wounded. The victim; his name has not been publicly released by police. Police have not disclosed the motive and circumstances behind the deadly shooting, saying only that the case remains under investigation.
