One suspect attempted to flee police through an attic space; he instead fell into a neighboring apartment’s shower.

SAN JOSE — A pair of men allegedly stole cash and property from a poker game at a San Jose home, leading to a two-months long investigation which ended when a suspect attempting to flee police instead fell through a ceiling, according to authorities.

The suspects allegedly demanded that the victims get down on the floor, and sent one to retrieve cash from a bedroom. The two men, both 39 years old and residents of San Jose, departed the home with stolen property and more than $30,000 in cash, police said. With the help of a police dog, one of the suspects was arrested that night. Police said they identified the other suspect during the investigation, but they did not specify how he was linked to the crime.

A man fleeing police after they identified him as a suspect in a May 4 robbery attempted to escape through an attic space, eventually crashing into a shower in a neighboring unit, authorities said.
