Israel Mejia, 24, of San Jose, has been arrested in connection with a string of violent home-invasion robberies in late May and early June, police say. In late June, they announced the arrests of three men and a minor on suspicion of committing at least three robberies. Police said Mejia was identified as part of that group during a subsequent investigation.
Police said the group drove that car about a mile north to a home in the 1000 block of Summerdale Drive in the Penitencia neighborhood. There, they allegedly threatened at gunpoint a man who was with his 15-month-old child, and forced the man to go to a nearby bank and withdraw cash. They brought him back home, and stole bank cards, jewelry and other property.
