Marjie French is retiring to spend more time with her husband and family, according to the San Antonio Area Foundation.

The Area Foundation manages more than 500 charitable funds for nonprofits, with more than $1 billion in assets.“I am incredibly proud to be a part of the San Antonio Area Foundation’s history,” French said in the press release. “The organization continues to have a tremendous impact in our community and is in a great position to celebrate 60 years serving as the community’s most trusted and impactful philanthropic partner.
French also led the organization through a strategic planning process, “charting a course for the next five years,” the Area Foundation said in a press release.
