From local pubs to the Spurs’ ticket office, San Antonians are gearing up for the arrival of Victor Wembanyama
Eighteen miles to the south, in an office inside the AT&T Center, Tim Salier was surrounded by a similar style of pandemonium.
“There was a three-minute celebration, everyone up screaming and dancing,” Salier said. “And then everyone jumped back to their desks.”Requests for the first season-ticket package of the Wembanyama era began rolling in “literally minutes” after the draft order was unveiled, Salier said. Within the first 12 hours of Wembymania, the Spurs had secured deposits on 2,000 new season-ticket packages.
