Russian officials say ten people, including Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin, were on board the plane that crashed north of the capital Moscow.
Russian mercenary chief Yevgeny Prigozhin has died, a Telegram channel affiliated with his Wagner group reported.
The confirmation came after Russian authorities earlier said Prigozhin was listed as a passenger on a private jet that crashed north of Moscow on Wednesday evening with no survivors. Russia's emergency situations ministry said in a statement that a private Embraer Legacy aircraft travelling from Moscow to St. Petersburg had crashed near the village of Kuzhenkino in the Tver Region.
