Attorney General Todd Rokita sues Black Lives Matter for not handing over docs, tax info
The lawsuit comes two months after Rokita's office launched an investigation into how the civil rights organization was using donations from Hoosiers.
According to a civil investigative demand sent Feb. 23, Rokita's office asked the organization to identify all of its Indiana chapters or affiliations, how much funding it had distributed to Indiana chapters and any property it owned or held in Indiana.The demand asked for information on how many Hoosiers donated to the organization, and how much they donated in total. It did not ask for details on who the Indiana donors were.
The seven-page request was met with silence, according to a petition Rokita's office filed April 26 in Marion Superior Court.
