Two-fifths of the Rockets’ starting lineup was absent for Friday night’s home game against the Hawks as guard Eric Gordon sat out due to groin injury management and center Alperen Sengun is considered day-to-day with a sore groin.
Friday was the first game of a back-to-back at Toyota Center, with the Rockets also scheduled to host the Thunder on Saturday. Gordon typically does not play in both games of back-to-backs, so his inclusion on the injury report Friday was no surprise. Sengun had been battling soreness all week, and with center Bruno Fernando available to play Friday for the first time since the second game of the season, the Rockets could afford to hold Sengun out.
Rockets guards Jalen Green and Josh Christopher, who had been listed as probable on Friday’s injury report, were both available to play against the Hawks.
