Rob Zombie shares a new image of Sylvester McCoy on the set of TheMunsters, confirming the legendary actor has finished filming his scenes as Igor.
A new behind-the-scenes image from Rob Zombie's upcoming The Munsters movie gives a new look at Sylvester McCoy's Igor on set. Zombie is well known as both a musician and director, helming films like The Devil's Rejects, House of 1000 Corpses, and 2007's Halloween reboot. McCoy has been in the business far longer, with his first acting credit coming in 1965, the same year Zombie was born.
Since The Munsters is a family-friendly sitcom from the '60s, it is very different than anything Zombie has made before. The director was announced to be helming the reboot in mid-2021, with his wife Sheri Moon Zombie playing Lily Munster, Jeff Daniel Phillips as Herman Munster, and Daniel Roebuck as Grandpa.
Zombie has continually kept fans in the loop when it comes to his Munsters reboot. The director has shared numerous images of the cast behind-the-scenes in and out of their costumes and posted several set photos of 1313 Mockingbird Lane being built. While there was initial concern that Zombie would make a gory and violent version of The Munsters, it's clear that is not the case based on everything he has shared thus far.
Even though The Munsters reboot will pull a lot of inspiration from the original series, it's also clear that Zombie is making it his own. And Igor is a great example of that. In the original series, Igor was a Grandpa's pet bat and in the 1981 film The Munsters' Revenge, Cousin Igor was introduced. It seems that McCoy's Igor will be an original character however, simply named Igor as a fun callback to the '60s TV show.
